In this Advanced Volume, now transcribed for viola, all the notes are the same as in my easier “Duets Cubed Volume.” However, in this version, the melodies and harmonies trade off. In particular, both players need to be strong readers with advanced shifting and string crossing skills in order to make smooth transitions between the melody and harmony, when playing these Christmas Carols. There is also an optional piano accompaniment included as a download.
The tradeoff spots don’t happen that often within a verse in order to maintain a natural musical flow. This Volume is great for two “hot-shot” players, whether they are gigging or just plain having fun together!
